Life-Saving Cancer Care

Thanks to community generosity, the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation invests more than $500,000 annually to ensure that every one of the more than 1,300 patients diagnosed at Sentara Martha Jefferson annually have access to the latest treatments and technologies, administered by skillful, compassionate oncologists, nurses, and technicians. You make possible:   

  • Free cancer screenings and prevention programs for more than 600 community members.
  • Free nutrition and exercise counseling through our Cancer Survivorship Program, 
  • Free wigs and scarves, therapeutic massage, and support groups through our Cancer Resource Center
  • High-risk breast programs providing genetic counseling, testing and education, exercise and nutritional counseling, and personal follow-up with a nurse navigator, which saves lives by going beyond what insurance will cover, to help women make informed decisions.
