Feeding the community

Healthy, nourishing food is fundamental to good health and the prevention and management of diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and other chronic illnesses. Yet one in 10 children in our region lives in poverty, and thousands more lack regular access to nourishing fruits, vegetables, and meats.

Community support is enabling the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation to invest $100,000 to expand a longstanding partnership with the Local Food Hub to distribute local farm-fresh produce to more than 1,700 children and families in 2023.

Be part of the story by donating today. $50 purchases a bag of fresh local meat, cheese, fruit, and vegetables to support a family’s diet for two weeks.
