Career Advancement & Financial Wellbeing
Create opportunity for yourself and your family.
make your dreams a reality
Sentara and the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation have a variety of financial resources available to help continue to grow in your career, achieve your dreams, and provide for your financial needs, and those of your family.
Sentara has partnered with Guild for an educational assistance benefit, to help you further your educational and career goals. Full-time and part-time employees are eligible for up to $5,250 in tuition assistance or tuition reimbursement per year, with no waiting period.
Additional funding through the MJH Foundation is available for tuition, fees, books, or other related educational expenses as a supplement to the Sentara Educational Assistance Program through Guild. Qualifying educational programs include degrees (associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral) and certifications. Awards are capped at $30,000 per degree. Applicant must first apply for funding through the Guild program, then complete an application for additional funding made possible by the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation.
Pay down your student loan faster! If you have student loans, the Sentara Student Debt Program benefit is here to help pay down that debt with a monthly employer contribution while you continue paying on your loans.
For Nurses: To help us achieve our goal of 80% of SMJH nurses having a BSN degree or higher, the MJH Foundation utilizes community support to provide additional student loan debt relief. After utilizing your Fidelity benefits, current SMJH staff pursuing a nursing degree may apply for funding support through the Foundation to help pay down nursing school debt.
Fidelity investment advisors are available to help you manage your retirement plan and long-term financial health.
