Center for Clinical Education
Creating pathways to healthcare careers, one student at a time.
Finding opportunity in foundational roles
Many students recognize opportunities to become doctors and nurses, yet few are aware of immediate opportunities for good jobs and career advancement through foundational healthcare roles, such as EKG technicians, pharmacy technicians, and nurse aides.
Through the Center for Clinical Education, we focus on recruiting and hiring students for these roles, many of which they can be paid to perform while they are attending class. This Earn2Learn model is essential to enabling individuals to support themselves and their families, while advancing their careers and achieving their educational goals.
Similarly, for our existing staff, the Center for Clinical Education removes financial and logistical barriers to advanced education and training, so that nurses and clinical staff can gain the skills they need to advance their careers in much-needed specialties, such as respiratory, physical and occupational therapists, and medical and patient-care technicians.
The Center for Clinical Education supports Sentara Martha Jefferson's clinical excellence, while helping people navigate their way into satisfying healthcare careers.
